Male breast reduction, technically known as a Gynecomastia, is a surgical procedure performed to reduce and contour the male breast to give a more masculine appearance. This procedure is typically done to enhance the body contour of a man who may for personal reasons feel his breast tissue gives a more "feminine" look making it uncomfortable to participate in activities where he would not be wearing a shirt.

Male Breast Reduction Procedure
Procedure is performed under general anesthesia administered by an M.D. anesthesiologist or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Depending upon the size of the reduction, the procedure may be performed in our outpatient surgery center, or in a hospital outpatient center, with no overnight stay. Surgery involves an incision around the areola. Through the incisions the surgeon excises tissue, fat and skin as needed to produce the desired result.
Recovery from Male Breast Reduction
There will be some post-operative pain for a few days but it is easily controlled by medication. Patients will need to reduce strenuous activity for about 2 weeks following surgery.
